County man hospitalized after shooting



A Union County man is being treated at Medical Center of South Arkan sas following a weekend shootout at Teddy Bears in Strong.
Darryl Jerome Hicks, 24, was shot three times in the chest by a handgun and re mains in critical condition at MCSA, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Of fi ce.
Authorities are looking for the alleged shooter, Andrew Wayne Lovett, 30, of 1005 W. First St. in Strong. Lovett faces charges of fi rst-degree battery and aggravated as sault, according to Union County Sheriff Ken Jones. Deputies responded to a report of several shots fi red in the parking lot at Teddy Bears around 2:21 a.m. Sat- urday.
Though witnesses say more than one fi rearm was involved, it is unclear who shot fi rst or what the motive was for the shooting, said Jones.
Jones said the matter is still under investigation.
