If someone misses a court date, how long is it before a warrant is issued?
Drug possession, driving on suspended license, failure to appear, etc....
Juan Reyes
LuLu if you would allow me to answer your question.
If the missed court date is on a misdemeanor traffic offense (where court appearance is not mandatory) a warrant may not be issued but your license would be suspended until you showed up for court or paid the fine. Paperwork would be completed within 10 days or so.
If the missed court date is on a mandatory court appearance (battery, drug possession...) a warrant would be issued and entered for Fail To Appear within five to seven business days.
These two dates are the general rule and sometimes the system is quicker or slower depending on the volume of the docket or other problems.

Hope that answers your question.
