Two arrested for Drugs January 15,2009
Gwendolyn Miller of 1301 E. Avenue, El Dorado and Donald Mathis of 222 West 18th Street, El Dorado Arkansas are behind bars at the Union County Sheriff's Office this afternoon January 15,2009 for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Crack Cocaine and Marijuana) along with other offenses.
Gwendolyn Miller age 19, was arrested and served warrants for four separate counts of deliver of a controlled substance. She will face additional charges as a result of the arrest and has a previous felony conviction.
and Donald Mathis age 22, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Crack cocaine and marijuana) along with other possible charges. Mathis is also a convicted felon recently paroled.
Miller and Mathis were arrested after a intensive investigation concerning their drug activities. Sheriff's Office Narcotics Deputies lead by Sheriff Ken Jones, State Police Investigators, and 13th Judicial District Drug Task Force Officers were all involved in the case and subsequent arrests.
Investigators began monitoring room 145 at the Econo Lodge Motel in El Dorado, Arkansas while tracking the two individuals. When the two exited the room this morning, Investigators surrounded them and quickly made the arrests. Miller had in her purse a substantial sum of suspected crack cocaine when she was arrested. Investigators then served a search warrant on the room the two had just exited and seized other narcotics, monies, and drug paraphernalia.
Items seized as a result of the search were two handguns, $1200.00 dollars of cash, more than a pound of marijuana, 3.6 grams of ice (Methamphetamine), three pill bottles full of various pills, scales, pipes, assorted paraphernalia, and 3 and 1/2 ounces of crack cocaine.
