Perry F. Nelson assumed duties as Sheriff and Collector of Union County with ten staff members (two returning from the previous Sheriff). Deputies included J.D. Ainsworth, W.F. Nelson (brother of the sheriff), M.H. Simmons, E.H. Nicholson, George D. Lee, H.C. Duck, E.H. Cassidy, J.D. Duck, and tax collectors Jessie J. Craig and H.G. Craig.
